Noise-canceling headphones are a great way to give us some peace and quiet by isolating us from outside noise. They are ideal if you use them for working in busy office environments or if you want to relax in your room without having to hear your neighbors or roommates in the background.
Now, noise-canceling headphones come in all shapes, sizes, and types, and while this cancellation technology used to be somewhat novel and uncommon, it is now widely available in different models of headphones. While many come with a hefty price tag, there are cheaper options as well.
Bose QC 35 II
These second-generation headphones from Bose are near perfect and among the most comfortable we’ve tested, making them a great choice for travel and long flights.
Noise cancellation is great, including three levels to choose from, sound quality is crisp and clean, even with the option to use the wired headphones if you want. Battery life is a little less than Sony’s at 20 hours (wireless) and the QC35 II uses the older micro-USB port.
They include NFC for easy setup and an active digital equalizer so you can adjust the sound.
Razer Opus
The Opus represents a new direction for Razer, a company focused solely on gaming peripherals up until this point, and the company has done very well.
While some of the ANC headsets in our catalog come with an expensive price tag, Razer’s Opus offers impressive noise-canceling technology at an affordable price, yet they simply turn on or off.
Combine that with the sleek monochrome finish, complete with silver accents, and handy features like auto-pause technology and THX certification and you have a pair of phenomenal
cans that can handle music, TV, movies, and more.
Anker Soundcore Life A2 NC
If you don’t have a lot to spend on noise-canceling headphones, look no further than this pair from Anker. They’re available now for much less than the retail price.
The hybrid ANC does a great job of keeping noise out, with three different modes available, as well as a transparency option, too. Much more than you would expect for such an inexpensive pair and they also offer great bass and battery performance.
However, the price does mean that they miss out on some features, such as auto pause, and the build quality is understandably basic.
